I haven't been playing long, so I'm kinda new to the game but I happened to have a sliver deck with sliver overlord and i was wondering if someone could explain his second effect, "Gain control of target sliver". Could that mean getting one from your hand into play or only taking control of your opponents sliver, if they happen to have any? or what?

Firstly, I apologize for the delay in reply. There'd been bugs in Wikicomplete making it such that the site was constantly held at the state it was in in October of 2008. As your post remains, that seems to have been fixed.

In answer to your question, the effect in question targets a Sliver on the battlefield. Cards in private zones can't be targeted, and your hand is a private zone.
